We offer Healing to clients as part of the Centre’s holistic approach to care.
All the healers are qualified members of a professional body.
What is Natural Healing?
There are many theories about how healing works but in reality no one is really sure.
It is known that such healing has been practiced down through the ages and probably predates recorded history. It is a natural phenomenon, as natural as breathing.
Simply, certain individuals have the gift, either naturally or acquired, of bringing a healing benefit by placing their hands near or upon another person. Such healing has been, and is, practised by every race under the sun and has been known to bring benefit not only to human beings but also to animals and plants.
It is unique and stands alone as a means of assisting others. It may be used alongside orthodox, complementary or alternative medicines and therapies.
Healing relies on no religious belief or faith.
It is for all.
How can Healing help?
Healing is a completely non—invasive, the patient does not need to be touched and is never prescribed other treatment.
Healing may:
- Promote feelings of deep relaxation
- Bring calmness & peace of mind
- Contribute to a sense of well being
- Aid recovery from treatment.
What can I expect in a treatment?
Everything that passes between the client and the healer is confidential.
During the first session the healer will need to take a brief history and may need to make notes.
The treatment involves the healer passing his / her hands on or above parts of the body.
There is no need to touch but this is something that should be discussed before the treatment starts.
Clients will remain fully clothed and may lie on the couch or sit if preferred.
The process will take up to 40 minutes, and during this time clients will normally feel very relaxed and supported.
Sometimes feelings of heat, cold or tingling maybe experienced. What is felt, or not felt, is irrelevant to the healing process.
How many sessions can I have?
Prior to using the complimentary therapies and treatments at the Olive Tree, you will meet
with the Centre Manager to discuss the different therapies on offer and agree those which
would best support your needs.
Members are entitled to 4 free sessions of any therapy they choose or a combination of therapies.
Following this we would request that circumstances allowing, members make a minimum donation
of £5.00 per session
Where will the therapy take place?
All therapy sessions take place in our dedicated therapy room at the centre.
We have an electric couch which can be lowered to assist those with mobility difficulties.
It can also be adjusted to a sitting or semi sitting position for those who prefer not to lie flat.
Please discuss this with your therapist.
How do I book a therapy session?
All sessions are booked through the manager or an appointed volunteer.
You can book in person, by telephone or by e-mail.
