Cancer and Working – Information for employees and the self-employed
There is a lot of information on the Internet to help people affected by cancer back into employment. This information is not always easy to find so below are some links to some of the web pages we think are particularly useful. If you know of others that you have used and liked please tell us. Contact us, or phone 01293 534465, if you would like to discuss anything which you read on the following links. Benefits There are many benefits available to support people with cancer. It is worthwhile having a look around. There is a " toolkit of resources" to help provide support and information to people affected by cancer in the workplace. Topics include your rights at work, what to do about continuing or giving up work. The toolkit is also helpful if you are working while caring for someone with cancer. The Learn Zone has five units which each take about 15-20 minutes to work through covering cancer in the workplace from the employee’s perspective. The units include video clips, expert advice and some interactive sections and cover:
If you are self-employed you can download a booklet full of practical information on a range of relevant topics. |
