Employer/Employee Forum - FREE event
Monday, 11 July 2011
7.00p.m. for light refreshments
Forum: 7.30 - 9.30pm
The Olive Tree Cancer Support Centre began the Cancer and Working Project in conjunction with Macmillan Cancer Support and Orbitals Ltd. approximately 14 months ago.
The Project was developed to assist employers and their employees to deal with the effects that an employee’s cancer diagnosis can have on them, their work colleagues, their managers and the functioning of the business itself.
After the success of our first Employers/Employees Forum last October, and due to many requests from members of the local business community, we have organised our second Forum.
This meeting will provide an opportunity for you to discuss your concerns about cancer in the workplace both with other employers and with individuals who are, or have been, cancer patients and to learn first-hand about best practices for dealing with this difficult issue.
Come and hear what others say about their experiences of having cancer and returning to work. Hear what other managers have to say about their experiences of dealing with this sensitive issue. Hear about what support people feel is helpful. Think about how your bottom line could be affected.
This event is free. Light refreshments at 7.00 p.m. Forum starts at 7.30 and we anticipate will finish at around 9.30 p.m.
