At the Olive Tree we have a successful wig recycling scheme, a drop in group, access to Macmillan welfare and benefits advice as well as an ever increasing range of classes, workshops and courses all of which form part of our wellbeing programme to support you through your cancer treatment and beyond.

The service provides confidential benefits advice to patients and their families who are resident in Sussex. It is not necessary to be registered at the Olive Tree to access this service. A series of workshops, repeated throughout the year, teaching and encouraging the use of mindfulness as an alternative way to engage with life around us. 4 week courses throughout the year, please contact us for dates of the next workshop. Fridays 3.30 p.m. - 4.30 p.m.
An exercise programme for breast cancer patients which helps to regain strength and mobility in the affected shoulder and arm, providing rehabilitation from surgeries including mastectomy, lumpectomy, lymph node removal and reconstruction procedures. The programme can also help to enhance physical and mental wellbeing, improve self-confidence and increase energy levels. Please contact the Centre for an introductory pack. Friday mornings.
A workshop aimed at reducing anxiety and stress and enhancing positive wellbeing, the benefits of which include inner peace, increased energy and calmer emotions. Wednesday afternoon once a month followed by healing session. Please contact the Centre for further information and dates.
Pop in for a chat and a cuppa on any Thursday afternoon from 2.00—4.30pm. This is mostly a social afternoon but there is always someone available if you have any concerns and need to speak to someone.
A friendly, all ability running group who run locally to raise awareness of the Olive Tree. New members are always welcome, particularly those who are looking to improve fitness levels following treatment. Running sessions 3 times a week. Studies have shown that singing in a choir or other group for just one hour boosts levels of immune proteins in people affected by cancer as well as reducing stress and improving mood. The Olive Tree singing group is open to everyone regardless of previous singing experience or ability, so come and sing your heart out! Meets one Monday evening a month, please contact the Centre for dates.
Weekly walks organised by our running club, The Trailblazers, some mid - week some at the weekends in a variety of local locations. A great, sociable way to get fit. Please contact the Centre or visit the Trailblazers Walkfit Facebook page for details of the next walk. All abilities welcome.
Usually held twice a month, this is a programme of interesting talks and activities which are open to anyone. The topics will be advertised on our website, on our social media platforms and in our monthly Update sheet, places need to be booked.
We have a good selection of wigs, scarves and hats for you to try. Anyone needing a wig is welcome to come and browse through our selection in private at the centre. We do not charge for wigs, but donations are always welcome. We also have a selection of scarves, bandanas and hats. If you are able to book an appointment, preferably on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon, it would be appreciated but other times are possible by arrangement.
Yoga can help us to strengthen the immune system and encourage our inner healing. It is a holistic healing system that creates harmony and balance on all levels of our being. Classes are held on Tuesdays 6.00 pm - 7.00pm and Fridays 10.00—11.15 a.m.
