Overview
The Olive Tree Cancer Support Group (the Olive Tree) is a registered Charity, dedicated to the relief of the physical and/or emotional distress of persons with cancer and their partners, families, friends and carers, through the provision of services, operating from its support centres in Crawley and Horsham.
A Centre Manager is being sought to manage all aspects of the Horsham centre, working closely with the Crawley Centre Manager and reporting to the Board of Trustees, delivering the charity’s goals and long-term strategy. The responsibilities include staff and volunteer management and recruitment, onboarding new patients/service users, engaging with external stakeholders and all other operational and day-to-day financial matters, including supervision of team members responsible for fundraising activities, social media and communications.
Salary: £28,500 to £30,500, depending on experience
Fulltime, Monday–Friday 37.5hrs per week
Location: Lavinia House, Horsham, with some local travel.

Knowledge and Experience
· Experience in supporting vulnerable people
· Experience in planning and implementing in a service-based organisation
· Knowledge of national and local cancer care, support and information, including holistic approaches
· Knowledge of good practice in user involvement
· Experience in monitoring, evaluation and continuous development of services
· Experience in team management and development of staff through personal development plans
· Experience in recruiting, retaining and working with volunteers
· Understanding of cancer and the effect it has on patients and those supporting them
· Experience of partnership working
· Experience in service promotion and marketing, including social media
· Experience in financial record keeping and processes
· Experience in successful project management
· Experience of working in a community and grant-based fundraising organisation would be an advantage

Team management and development
Participate in the recruitment and engagement of volunteers/staff members, ensuring that the role profile fits the needs of the Olive Tree.
Ensuring that new team members receive appropriate induction and training in proportion to their role.
Provide regular guidance and support to team members, including members responsible for fundraising, social media and communications, and general administration for the Horsham office
Ensure that all are aware of the procedures and protocols as set out by the Olive Tree policies and procedure documents
Participate in performance review and provide appropriate training where required on a team or individual basis.
Learning and professional development

Maintain knowledge of current cancer treatment, information and support services, to ensure that those delivering information to clients are able to provide accurate information.

Effective signposting service
Information and information resources
Develop a process for selecting and managing information resources.
Ensure that resources used at the Centre are current and relevant.

Understand the barriers to receiving and understanding information delivery and work with team members to provide an equitable service to all users.
Marketing and raising awareness of the service
Working with other team members to implement a plan to promote and market the service, working with partner organisations to reach those who currently are not proportionally represented in the centre demographics.
Communicate with other providers and organisations to make sure they understand the aims and purpose of the Olive Tree.
